3rd Grenadier Guards – War diary

1 Jan 1919	Battalion in Waiting.
2 Jan 1919	Battalion came out of waiting.
3 Jan 1919	Nos 2 & 3 Coys paraded on the Range Nos 1 & 4 paraded under the Adjutant. There was a Lecture to Battalion at 1100 hrs.
4 Jan 1919	The Battalion route marched in the morning.
5 Jan 1919	Battalion paraded at 0945 hrs  for Divine Service.
6 Jan 1919	Battalion Parade 0845 hrs. Lecture in Drill Hall 110.
7 Jan 1919	Nos 1 & 4 Coys paraded on the Range Nos 2 & 3 Coy paraded under the Adjutant. There was a Lecture to the Battalion at 1100 hrs.
8 Jan 1919	Battalion came into waiting and mounted duties.
9 – 10 Jan 1919	Battalion in Waiting.
11 Jan 1919	Battalion came out of Waiting.
12 Jan 1919	Battalion parade at 0945 hrs for Divine Service.
13 Jan 1919	Nos 1 & 4 Coys paraded under Capt. Hirst M.C. for pr???? in keeping the ground. Nos 2 & 3 Coys paraded under the Adjutant.
14 Jan 1919	H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES K.G. presented the colours to the 2nd Battn. IRISH GUARDS on the Square of the Barracks. Nos 1 & 4 Coys under Capt. G.R. Hirst M.C. kept the ground. Practice Drill 1400-1500 hrs.
15 Jan 1919	Battalion Paraded 0845 hrs. Education from 1100 – 1200 hrs.
16 Jan 1919	No 1 Coy paraded on the Range Nos 2 & 3 & 4 Coys. paraded under the Adjuatant. Education from 1100 – 1200 hrs.
17 Jan 1919	Battalion came into waiting. under new scheme 3 ½ Coys found duties in the town, remaining half Coy found Barrack duties.
18 – 19 Jan 1919	Battalion in Waiting.
20 Jan 1919	Battalion came out of waiting.
21 Jan 1919	No 2 Coy paraded on Range, Nos 1 3 & 4 Coys paraded under the Adjutant. MAJOR C. FOX, SCOTS GUARDS, lectured to the brigade at 1030 hrs.
22 Jan 1919	The Battalion route marched from 0830 hrs – 1000 hrs. education from 1100 – 1200 hrs.
23 Jan 1919	No 3 Coy paraded on the Range, Nos 1 2 & 3 Coys were at the disposal of Coy Commdrs. Scheme was issued for Platoon Drill Competition education 1100 – 1200 hrs.
24 Jan 1919	Battalion Parade 0845 hrs. Education 1100 – 1200 hrs.
25 Jan 1919	No 4 Coy paraded on Range. Nos 1 2 & 3 Coys were at the disposal of Coy paraded on Range, Nos 1 2 & 3 Coys were at the disposal of Coy Commdrs.
26 Jan 1919	Battalion came into waiting.
27 – 28 Jan 1919	Battalion in waiting.
29 Jan 1919	Battalion came out of waiting.
30 Jan 1919	No 1 Coy paraded on Range. No 2 Coy were at the disposal of Coy Commdr. Baths were allotted. Nos 3 & 4 Coys in the morning & Nos 1 & 2 Coys in the afternoon.
31 Jan 1919	Battalion Parade 0845 hrs.
